Rowlinson supports community green fingers

Stepping forward to help Friends of Scholes Park in Gatley

Rowlinson staff stepped forward to help Friends of Scholes Park in Gatley in their bid to encourage more people in the community get involved with growing their own plants and food.

Two timber planters were constructed and installed in the park. Friends of Scholes Park then invited local children to come and help bring them to life by adding a range of plants.

“We’re so pleased with the raised beds, kindly constructed and donated by Rowlinson”

Jo Outterside, Friends of Scholes Park, Gatley, said, “We’re so pleased with the raised beds, kindly constructed and donated by Rowlinson, which are perfect for making the beds accessible.

“The children couldn’t wait to start adding the plants and are learning so much through their involvement with the project. They literally can’t wait to eat the fruits of their labour!”

Steve Weir, construction director, Rowlinson said, “This is a great community initiative which has the potential to bring about so many benefits. We are pleased we could help by providing the planters and hope the community enjoys using them for years to come.”

Rowlinson is currently working on the former cinema site in Gatley, building 33 new homes for over 55s and two new shop units, on behalf of Stockport Homes.
