Rowlinson staff joined members of Mosscare St Vincent’s (MSV) on their annual clean-up campaign within the local Moss Side area.
Rowlinson is developing the former Stagecoach bus deport site, which had previously stood vacant for years, bringing over 250 new homes to the area.
Paul Higgins, site manager, Rowlinson, said: “As part of our contribution to the clean-up, we provided skips, safety clothing, shovels, brushes and, of course, our labour. After a few hours’ hard work, the difference was evident. Litter can affect a neighbourhood but once it’s cleared there’s an immediate positive impact so it was definitely worth the effort.”
Local sixth form student Joe O’Connor, on placement with Rowlinson, helped out as part of his experience in construction administration. He saw at first hand the importance of team working and community involvement.
Others involved on the day included Chair of the Moss Side Resident’s Committee, Tony Wright and two local police community support officers.
The event was organised by Simon Kirby from MSV.
