The first phase of Rowlinson’s Depot scheme, which will deliver nearly 300 new homes in Manchester, is complete.
Four apartment blocks, each providing 23 new homes to rent, with a mix of one and two bedroom apartments, are built and almost fully let.
“This is a real success.”
David Chilton, managing director, Rowlinson said: “This is a real success. Despite the recent challenging Coronavirus implications, we have completed the apartments and are thrilled with the demand.
“The site is unrecognisable from the former derelict site left vacant following the relocation of Stagecoach. What was a community eye-sore is now becoming a community asset with new homes to suit a wide range of people.”
“The development is a great place to live, designed specifically to meet the needs of a wide range of customers.”
Nigel Rawlings, chief executive, Rise Homes said: “The quality of the apartments on offer, coupled with inclusive services such as high speed broadband, has resulted in strong demand with waiting lists for our properties.
“The development is a great place to live, designed specifically to meet the needs of a wide range of customers. The homes include open plan living with modern building features such as zinc roofs and solar panels.”
Rowlinson is working together with Rise Homes and housing provider Mosscare St Vincent’s (MSV). The five-acre development is delivering a mix of new house types and tenures, suitable for a wide range of people at many different stages on the property ladder.
Alongside the completed apartments, the scheme further comprises 72 extra care homes, and 54 three and four-bedroom family houses with a mixture of shared ownership and outright sale options. Work on the extra care building and the family homes is due to complete this summer.
Rowlinson and scheme architects, Buttress, recently secured planning for the final phase which will see 40 apartments built to HAPPI standards, giving people greater flexibility to adapt their homes as their needs change.
