“38 new affordable-rent homes for Stalybridge”
Occupying a prime location on the former site of a textile mill, the new three-storey building contains stylish homes that have been sensitively designed to fit in with the local area.
The former engine house is being restored and repurposed to become a central feature of the walled gardens, celebrating the historical significance of the site.
There are 21 one-bedroom and 17 two bedroom modern apartments which come with river views and easy access to the town centre.
“We’re proud to be delivering new affordable housing for the community”
The scheme is part of GM Mayor, Andy Burnham’s, Greater Manchester Town Centre Challenge and has received grant funding from Homes England.
David Chilton, managing director, said; “Rowlinson is actively involved in the plans to regenerate the centre of Stalybridge and we’re proud to be delivering this new affordable housing for the community.”
Phase 2 is currently underway, with 18 shared ownership and rent to buy apartments due to complete May 2020.
