A vision to build ‘whole life’ homes for vulnerable people, putting the needs of the tenants and the local authority at the fore, was at the heart of this development.
The site was complex and challenging. It incorporated a 400-year old Grade II listed farm building, complete with two large outbuildings, which had suffered from neglect, vandalism and arson.
“A complete overhaul and redesign was required.”
Newall Green Farm was built to robust standards, with high specifications throughout.
A range of original features, including oak beams and flagstones, were found and restored as part of the scheme.
The scheme is now providing much-needed, high quality, supported living accommodation for 27 people, five of whom have individual self-contained apartments.
Specialist care is provided across the site by Zeno Care who provide support for people with complex needs within the autism spectrum.
The final product was one that Rowlinson, and all the partners, were proud to deliver for on behalf of the residents.
The construction was completed in October 2017.
