Rowlinson’s Depot development, offering housing that caters for all stages of life, has scooped the Chartered Institute of Housing Northern Excellence in Community Investment Award.
“This award acknowledges what we set out to achieve in terms of a truly integrated development.”
Together with our development partners, Mosscare St Vincent’s and Rise Homes, Rowlinson is transforming the former bus depot site with a range of much-needed new, quality housing.
David Chilton, managing director, Rowlinson said: “As well as recognising all the hard work that is going into delivering The Depot, this award acknowledges what we set out to achieve in terms of a truly integrated development. This means a greater choice of housing for the community with affordability, adaptability and a strong sense of design at its heart.”
In all, over 300 new build homes form part of the scheme with a range of rented apartments, 3 and 4-bedroom family homes and later living options encompassing extra care housing and over 55s apartments, developed in line with HAPPI principles. The scheme was designed by Buttress Architects.
Steve Weir, Construction Director and Paul Higgins, Project Manager collected the trophy at the Northern Housing Awards 2021, which received unprecedented entries across its 12 categories – the full list of winners is available here with congratulations to all who won.
