The deal agreed on the final phase at Rowlinson’s Depot development in south Manchester is delivering a further 40 high quality, new homes.
Mosscare St Vincent’s (MSV) Housing will be offering the properties as shared ownership for over 55s.
Designed by Buttress Architects, the homes will be built incorporating ‘HAPPI’ design principles, ensuring they are adaptable and accessible with plenty of space and natural light.
“The HAPPI scheme is a great addition, complementing the existing family housing, apartments and age friendly homes.”
David Chilton, managing director, Rowlinson said: “The final phase is a perfect fit. We’re increasing the housing offer in the area, in terms of both type and tenure. The HAPPI scheme is a great addition, complementing the existing family housing, apartments and age friendly homes.”
Yvonne McDermott, director of growth, MSV said: “We are all living longer and our chance of a healthy old age is closely tied to where we live. These HAPPI living homes, offer the perfect opportunity to right-size, releasing equity and living in a home that will meet changing needs in a community environment.”
David Coulson, senior architect at Buttress, said: “It is important to ensure that older generations are able to access housing that meets their changing needs and this scheme has been carefully designed to achieve just that. We look forward to working with Rowlinson to deliver this high-quality addition to the wider development.”
The homes are being built by Rowlinson’s construction arm on its five acre Depot development, the former Stagecoach site.
