Investing in young people

The smaller things can make a big difference

The Growth Company’s Education and Skills team recently contacted us asking for support in supplying materials to help their learners.

As an organisation, we are keen to support social value initiatives and particularly those that assist young people, so were happy to get involved.

To date, we have made three separate deliveries providing surplus doors, cabinets, timber and more.

The supplies are now being put to good use by joinery learners who are honing their skills.

SkillCentre manager, Lee Beveridge, said: “Relationships such as these are vital to the success of our work in educating young learners and helping them to reach their potential.

“The donation of materials is more than a generous gesture, it’s an investment in the young people attending the SkillCentre.”

David Chilton, managing director of Rowlinson added: “Supporting the wider community, and especially younger people in construction, is something that we’re proud to do.

“For a relatively small amount of effort on our part, we’re helping make a tangible difference. It would be great if others can get involved too.”
