Rowlinson has started work on a major new scheme in Hattersley for North West housing association, Onward.

Re-purposing brownfield land

Onward acquired the brownfield land from Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.

Now the site is being transformed with a total of 161 new homes being built across three central sites.

What’s being built

A range of different homes are being built, in line with local requirements:

91 homes will feature within an extra-care scheme, catering for over-55s with diverse needs
55 homes will be made available for for affordable rent, and
15 homes will be available for shared ownership, supporting people looking to get on the property ladder.

Design 

The scheme was designed by Triangle Architects, with the aim of encouraging multi-generational living across the development.

Construction work is currently underway on this significant development.

Funding for the scheme is being delivered through Onward’s Strategic Partnership with Homes England, which will enable the housing association to build 5,000 new homes by 2030 – with 3,208 being delivered directly through the partnership.
