Celebrating creative communities

Unsung volunteers celebrated at Be Proud awards, sponsored by Rowlinson

We were proud to continue our support for Manchester City Council’s annual Be Proud Awards 2025, honouring the individuals and groups who go above and beyond to make Manchester a better place for all.

Rowlinson chief financial officer, Matthew Holloway, presented the Creative Communities Award to REEL MCR, a drama group based in Blackley whose inclusive productions empower local voices and bring people together through storytelling.

“It was an honour to support this inspiring event and celebrate the incredible impact of creative projects like REEL MCR. Congratulations to all the winners who continue to make Manchester a more vibrant, connected city.”

The awards recognised achievements across ten categories, including health, environment, and equality.

The top honour, Pride of Manchester, went to Norma Bowerbank for her tireless community service.

The results were announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the at the Hilton Manchester on June 20, 2025.
