Great quality new housing to support older people.
Care & Support
Rowlinson is constructing a new, sustainable extra care development for Southway Housing.
Located at Abbey Hey Lane in Gorton, the £15million scheme will deliver 106 new homes specifically designed for people aged 55 years and over, with access to round the clock support, as required.
There will 43 one bedroom and 63 two bedroom homes available for social rent, catering for a mixture of needs.
“Great quality new housing to support older people.”
The scheme will help fill the gap in the market for good quality new housing to support older people, allowing them to remain independent in their own homes but with a range of support on offer, should they need it.
Designed by Pozzoni Architects, the development features extensive landscaping, secure and controlled access, together with environmentally friendly solutions such as ground source heat pumps, solar panels and vehicle charging points.
Work is due to complete in autumn 2021.
This scheme, together with Elmswood Park at The Depot and Burnage Extra Care, sees Rowlinson working to deliver 234 supported living homes on three of the four priority extra care schemes in Manchester.
