Rowlinson joined celebrations to mark the completion and official opening of Brookhead Lodge, a new extra care living scheme delivered in partnership with Stockport Homes Group, strengthening the provision of high-quality housing for older people in Stockport.
The development was formally opened on 17 June, bringing together councillors, project partners, residents and members of the local community to celebrate the occasion.
The scheme provides 49 one- and two-bedroom affordable apartments for social rent, designed to support independent living alongside 24/7 on-site care delivered by Valley Care.
Designed to promote wellbeing and connection, Brookhead Lodge includes a range of on-site facilities such as a bistro and hair salon, open to both residents and the wider community, helping to create a vibrant and inclusive environment.
David Chilton, Chief Executive Officer at Rowlinson, said: “We’re proud to have worked in partnership to deliver these high-quality homes and facilities, alongside welcoming community spaces that benefit both residents and the wider neighbourhood. Brookhead Lodge represents a step-change from the site’s former accommodation, and we hope residents will be very happy in their new homes.”
Steve Partridge, Chair of Stockport Homes Group Board, commented: “We are delighted to see Brookhead Lodge begin welcoming residents into a place they can call home. This scheme reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, affordable housing that enables older people to live independently while having access to the care and support they need. We are proud to work alongside our partners to deliver developments like this that make a real difference to people’s lives across Stockport.”
Delivered by Rowlinson, with Wilkinson Cowan Partnership as Employer’s Agent and PRP as Architect, the development represents a major investment in modern, accessible housing for older people in the borough, supported by Homes England, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.
The opening event was supported by Rowlinson, with a choir and refreshments provided for residents and guests, helping to create a memorable occasion.
